I became a ‘Nanny’ when I was 36. My first grandchild was a tremendous blessing at a difficult time in my life, she was actually due on my 37th birthday, but put in an early appearance just before Christmas 1997. On the day she was born I felt such joy and inspired to write a ‘Letter From Your Newborn.’ At the time I didn’t think much of, but in more recent years I have discovered I was actually writing about the Law of Attraction before I had heard of it and of how our subconscious minds are programmed by everything we absorb in those early years.
I am now the very proud grandmother of ten beautiful grandchildren, ranging from 20 years to 3, and it is through watching these jewels – grow, develop, interact, learn, play – that I have learnt so much myself. Being a grandparent enables you to be a loving part of their life, without the responsibility that can cause strain, worry and sometimes be overwhelming for parents. You are free to enjoy your moments with them, appreciating every little thing they say and do. Grandchildren truly are beautiful treasures to behold as the years speed by.
